My Projects:
CX Tissier Phase I

 26-08-2008.

The Tissier Citroëns are my favorite, no doubt about it.
You'll find my Tissier models on this page, and here even more.

I just finished building a unique Tissier. It's an old CX-ambulance, which is now in use as a camper. I saw this car in Le Mans in 2003 during EuroCitro. The model is an ESDO-kit, the roof was made by me.

Did you ever wonder how Pierre Tissier made his cars? I did. This next project will show two or three steps in the making of a Tissier......

18-09-2008:

Look at the pictures below. These pictures were taken at Tissiers workshop. They were kindly given to me by the president of the Amicale Automobiles Tissier.
Tissier starts of with a second-hand CX. It is simply cut into two parts. It's all been done in the open. As you can see on the pictures, it has been raining a short while ago. Apparently they don't worry about rust too much....!
Workers put long steel bars into the car using brute force: with a sledge hammer!

The idea is to make the scene above in scale 1:43. I'll be using an old model from Solido. I bought it as a wreck, so it came cheap ;-)
It's easy to disassemble, and also the old paint comes of easy. There's only one drawback to this model: the roofline above the windscreen is totally wrong. It goes the wrong way around. So this has to be corrected.

27-10-2008:

An update:

The floorpan also was cut in two. The console was put into place and was extended a bit: the tunnel. The dash was glued on top. Next thing was to close the space under the dash.
I've bought three figures from the "Omen"-series. These are 1:43 figures in white metal.

The car is sitting on old wheel rims. I've made my own out of a styrene-tube (Evergreen).

The carrosserie is glued to the chassis. The wheelcases are closed using bits of styrene.

The three figures had to be modified. You cannot bent the white metal, it'll break off. Nor can one heat the material, it acts like solding tin. So whereever an arm or leg needs to be bended, I just cut it of, drilled holes in either side, and connected the two parts with a piece of wire. Putty is used to fill up any gap. The man using the hammer was given a "coat" made of brass foil.

Assembly is done.

19-11-2008:
The model is sprayed.

The figures are painted.

The original windscreen is unusable, It's too damaged. But fortunalety I still have a leftover from an old Original-Miniatures-kit.

The first phase of this project is finished. Like it?
